Saddle Rock Trail (also spelled “Saddlerock”) is a favorite local hike just minutes south of downtown Wenatchee, WA—off Circle Street. Here’s a quick snapshot:
Distance & Difficulty
Main loop is about 2–3.5 mi (3.1 mi round‑trip via WTA), moderate in difficulty with a steady climb of ~900–950 ft over ~1.3 mi to the rocky summit.
Trail Features
A gravel double‑track old road winds upward through sagebrush and spring wildflowers (balsamroot, lupine, desert parsley), occasionally narrowing to single‑track near the summit. The gradient averages around 15%, with steeper pitches up to 31%.
Parking & Amenities
Saddle Rock Gateway trailhead (Circle St) has paved parking (~100 spaces), restrooms, picnic shelters, benches along the trail, and interpretive signage.
Scenic Highlight
At the summit, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Wenatchee, the curving Columbia River, valley orchards, and Cascade mountains (even Glacier Peak on clear days)
Trail Options
Aside from the main route, there’s an “East Trail” (1.75 mi one‑way with ~1,228 ft gain) that loops under the rock formation before joining near the top—ideal for a longer route
Best Time to Go
A full loop usually takes 1–2 hrs; popular year-round though especially beautiful in spring wildflower season and crisp in winter—a good conditioning hike or nice after-work stretch
Tips
Trail is well‑marked but can be steep and dusty—wear good shoes.

Stay on designated paths—they’re undergoing rehab.
